and the flow of information.

While written in 2000 it still gives insightful and useful insights as to how
the world is changing.

China Adventures

Firstly I'll thank Birmingham University for inviting me to work with a group of
Chinese Civil servants who are responsible for managing training courses for
senior and middle level Civil Servants. I'm really looking forward to
it.

Secondly, for those following (my son) Liam's adventures in China the martial
arts academy where he's staying has published a website. The mountains are
local; the rest of the pictures have been taken throughout China. The academy is 
converted factory. They have'nt got the heating to work yet. As it's the middle
of winter they often go back to bed after practice to keep warm. Liam's been in
China for six months. Six months to go - He seems to be enjoying it!

Glossary of NLP terms continued - Future pacing
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

For those that up to now may have been having some difficulty in remembering NLP
terms I'm including one a month.

Future pacing

The process of mentally rehearsing oneself through some future situation in
order to ensure that the desired behaviour will occur naturally and
automatically.

Incredibly useful both for your own use in mentally preparing for an event and
for testing the effect of an intervention with a client. Simply ask your client
(or do it yourself) to imagine doing the relevant behaviour in the future. By
carefully watching your clients response you can test how effective you've been.
If it hasn't worked as well as you want you know you need to do something else!
