Change magic:
A step forward for the ANLP ----------------------------------------------------------
The 'association of neuro linguistic programming', whose quoted purpose is to 'to act as a central focus for all those who share the interest and excitement that is NLP' managed to distance itself from both the two NLP Co-founders Richard Bandler and John Grinder.
I think it's a courageous and positive decision for the ANLP to offer an apology to Richard Bandler and Paul McKenna for some of the comments the previous committee had posted on their website. While we have yet to see the full direction the ANLP will take this is a major step in the right direction.
ANLP news:
Email chaos - an apology ----------------------------------------------------------
My PC suffered a hard drive crash and virus infection last month and despite having good back up I lost a small number of emails. Apologies to anyone I haven't replied to.
Glossary of terms continued - Visual ----------------------------------------------------------
To make it easier to understand NLP terms I'm including one a month - They're a lot easier to understand than they may at first seem.
Visual,
Relating to the sight or sense of sight,
One of the benefits of NLP is that it enables us to be more aware of the information people are giving out, and the information they are storing in their heads.
In NLP we become more aware of what people see, hear, feel, taste and smell, and that our experience is made up of combinations of sensory experience.
The visual sense is a major component of our our experience, when we're observing people we can notice such things as: posture, breathing, skin tone and colour, where they're looking and their eye accessing and their apparent rapport with their surroundings.
Each of these gives us more information to improve our own communication.
