Key UK PPI Seminar dates

3-Day change management master-class 3-5th November
Free taster, Milton Keynes, 10th November
2-Day foundation, 2-3rd December
3-Day practitioner basics 13-15th December
Free taster, London, 5th January
3-Day practitioner accreditation, 12-14th January
3-Day executive coaching master-class, 26-28th January.

We have two places available for the change management master-class; please call if you would like to discuss this or any other question you have.

I also recommend the Milton Keynes taster session if you have any detailed questions about NLP; the smaller number of attendees means that there is more time for individual questions. The next taster is the 10th November not the 10th December.

Feedback from Switzerland

It's always nice to receive positive feedback. I'd like to thank Chris Lines, IT Manager, Sunrise, TDC Switzerland AG for writing:

"My main problem was raising awareness of and selling my team's capabilities internally to Sunrise IT and end users.

I'm not going to give you all the credit but our situation today is:

1. Demand is too high for the current team
2. Error handling as implemented by my team has now become a 'standard approach'
3. After a series of informal meetings around the company, our profile is much higher than before
4. We have (inadvertently) made an enemy of the former manager - always a sign of success!

As I say some of this is the result of other factors, but raising the profile of the team has a lot to do with your work. Thanks again for the class".

Thanks Chris, we are pleased to welcome a number of delegates from across Europe. Further comments can be read from the link below.

Putting performance into Business Coaching with NLP

We've released our latest press release to publicise our executive coaching master-class on the 26-28th January. We're working hard both to raise both our profile and the profile of the NLP community generally.

Coaching Tip - Time management is a myth

As you're probably aware NLP is an excellent bases for coaching; we're now pleased to bring you a coaching 'tip' every month. They may or may not be NLP related.

The first is "Time management is a myth" by Paul Lemberg.

Glossary of terms continued - Chunk Size

To make it easier to understand NLP terms I'm including one a month; they are easier to understand than they may at first seem!

Chunking usually involves organising or breaking down some experience into bigger or smaller pieces:

Chunking up involves moving to a larger more abstract level of information.
Chunking down involves moving to a more specific and concrete level of information
Chunking laterally involves finding other examples at the same level of information

To chunk up you can ask question like:

Why? For what purpose? What's that a part of?

To chunk down you can ask:

What specifically? How specifically? What parts does it have?

To chunk laterally you can ask:

And what else? Give me another example?

When two people disagree its often possible to help them agree by asking them to 'chunk up' as to what they really want. When they've agreed at a 'high chunk' level they are often much more likely to tackle the detail positively and come to an agreement.

Liam's Chinese Adventure continues

This is only for those following Liam's adventure. The story so far: My 18 year old is spending a year in China studying Martial Arts. He booked for a year at the North China Shaolin academy in Si Ping City; however when he realised that he was being charged $4500 for the year while the local students were paying $800 and that the 'Ancient Castle' was in fact a film set he and a small group of friends decided to leave to find somewhere more authentic....
